Link Microsoft Teams to Timeneye to track time for your calls in MS Teams
🌟 This feature is included in the PREMIUM Plan
For instructions on how to add the Timeneye app to Microsoft Teams, please take a look at this guide.
In this article, we'll explain how to track time for your calls and video calls in Microsoft Teams.
Thanks to our integration, every time you start or receive a call or video call in Microsoft Teams, you'll see a Suggestion pop up in your Timeneye dashboard.
Before you start: who can set up this integration?
Please note that only users who have Admin permission in Microsoft Azure can activate the integration in Timeneye. When connected, the integration is activated for the whole account.
To know more about what permissions we ask for and why, please take a look at this guide.
How to activate the integration
If you have the appropriate permissions described above, go to the Integrations section of Timeneye, then look for Microsoft Teams Calls:
Click on the button to connect the integration. You'll be asked to grant all the necessary permissions, without which the integration cannot be linked.
How to track your Microsoft Teams Calls
Once the integration is correctly linked, all the people inside the workspace will start receiving the Suggestions based on the MS Team calls and Video calls.
For example: the user "Alex" has the integration connected in the workspace, and receives a call in Microsoft Teams from a client. Alex answers the call, talks to the client, and then hangs up. On the dashboard, Alex will see a Suggestion with the Microsoft Teams icon.
Please note: it may take up to 30 minutes (but usually less!) for the suggestion to show up on the dashboard. So you may need to wait before you can accept the Suggestion. If the suggestion still hasn't shown up, try to refresh the integration, or contact our support.
Editing and Saving Your Suggestions
When the suggestion pops up on your dashboard, it will reflect the exact duration of the call. To effectively include it in your timesheet. Click the pencil icon on the Suggestion: you'll be able to edit the Project, Phase, Tags, and even the duration if you need to. When you're done, don't forget to Save.
All your suggestions from Microsoft Teams must be saved to be included in your timesheets, time recaps, and reporting.
Please note: the call duration must be at least 1 minute long. Calls with a duration <1 minute won't be retrieved as suggestions.
MS Teams Calls duration on an Outlook Calendar event
If you connect the Outlook Calendar integration, you will automatically receive event suggestions retrieved from your Outlook calendar. If the event is a call or video call, our integration automatically updates the event with the duration from Microsft Teams.
For example: the user "Lou" has an event on their Outlook calendar called "Design Brief," once the Teams meeting finishes, Lou will see the event's duration updated to reflect the actual duration of the call, thanks to the Microsoft Teams calls integration.
By hovering on the updated time, you'll also see a tooltip with the original time from the Outlook event.
