Jira Software Integration

With this integration, you can track time directly in Jira Software. Powered by our native integration and the Timeneye Browser widget.

🌟 This feature is included in the STARTER Plan and up

In this article, you'll learn how to track time with the Timeneye integration with Jira software.

This integration is powered by the Timeneye Browser Widget and our native integration.

To connect this integration, you'll need:

  1. The Timeneye Browser widget

  2. Your Timeneye workspace;

  3. To be both an owner of the Timeneye Workspace and an administrator of your Jira software account

How To Track Time In Jira, With Timeneye

  1. Download and install the Timeneye Browser Widget

  2. Sync your Jira and Timeneye accounts

  3. Go to Jira and look for the Timeneye Button

Step One: Download And Install The Timeneye Browser Widget

Download and install the Timeneye Browser widget. It’s available for Chrome, Firefox,

Microsoft Edge.

You can use your Timeneye credentials to log in to the Widget. All you need are your Timeneye username and password.

Step Two: Sync Your Jira And Timeneye Account

Leave the Timeneye widget on the side for a moment to go to the Integrations section of your Timeneye workspace.

Look for the Jira icon in the integrations list.

Here you can sync your Jira to Timeneye for seamless integration.

Click the button to connect Jira and Timeneye. You’ll be asked to grant permission for our integration to sync.

After you’ve done that, you’ll be able to

  • Import any new Jira projects in Timeneye automatically;

  • Link any existing Jira projects with the Timeneye ones;

  • Link the users in your Jira account with your team members in Timeneye.

The sync can be 100% automatic thanks to the Synchronization settings:

However, if you want more control over what you import from Jira, use the manual mode in the Manage section. This will allow you to handpick the project you want to import.

A similar process can be done for users. Please note: unlike other native integrations, the synchronization only links users, not imports them. That’s because Jira software allows users not to have an email address. This, unfortunately, is not compatible with how user invitation works in Timeneye.

Step Three: Go To Jira To Track Time, With The Timeneye Widget

Now, back to your Jira account. The Timeneye Browser Widget will add a small icon to your Jira issues:

Just click on the clock to track time.

You can start tracking in the Register time dialog.

When you click on the Timeneye button, you’ll see the Register time dialog, where you can select the Project and Phase.

Alternatively, clicking the Jira issue to expand will show a second Timeneye panel. You can use this little panel to track time and see how many timers/entries you have tracked for that issue and the user who tracked them.
